"THE LAWFUL AND PROHIBITED IN ISLAAM"
The Da'eef Ahaadeeth in "The Lawful and Prohibited in Islaam"

1. P.15 2nd Hadeeth
Salman al-Farsi reported that when Allaah's Messenger was asked
about..............he replied, the Halaal is that which Allaah has made
lawful in His book.................and that concerning which He is
silent He has permitted as a favour to you.
Reported by: Tirmidhee (322/1), Ibn Majah (3367), Hakim (115/4), and
Baihaqee (12/10) Ghayatul Maram No. 3.
2. P.15 3rd Hadeeth
The Prophet also said: Allaah has prescribed certain obligations for
you, so do not neglect them; He has defined certain limits so do not
transgress them; ........................do not ask questions concerning
them.

3. P.21 2nd Hadeeth
The Prophet characterized his message by saying: I have been sent with
what is straight and easy.

The Prophet said: Do not do what the Jews did in order (technically)
legalize Allaah's prohibitions by flimsy excuses.

5. P.30 2nd Hadeeth
The Prophet said: A time will come when people will
Devour usury calling it `trade'.

not by Bukhaaree and Muslim which is what is mentioned in the footnote
No.2 on p.304 "The lawful and prohibited in Islam" Ghayatul

6. P.31 2nd Hadeeth
He said: Anyone who desires what is permissible from the world keeping
himself away from sins, working for the sake of his family, and taking
care of his neighbour will meet his Lord with a face shining like the
full moon.

7. P.32 2nd Hadeeth
He also said: If anyone a masses wealth through Haram means and then
gives charity from it, there is no regard for him and the burden of sin
remains. Reported by Ibn Hibban (no.797), Hakim (390/1) & Ibn

8. P.32 3rd Hadeeth
He said: If a person earns property through means and then gives
charity, it will not be accepted (by Allaah), if
he.......................And unclean thing does not wipe away another
unclean thing.

The Prophet said: Treat them as you treat the People of the Book.

The Prophet said: If someone kills a sparrow for sport, the sparrow will
cry out on the Day of Judgment "O Lord! That person killed me in
vain! He did not kill me for any useful purpose."

14. P.65 1st Hadeeth
He said: Whoever kills a sparrow or anything bigger than that without
just cause, Allaah will hold him accountable on the Day of Judgement.
The listeners asked O Messenger of Allaah; what is a just cause? He
replied that he killed it to eat, not simply chop of its head and then
throw it away.

15. P.66 2nd Hadeeth
He said: Do not eat what is killed by a banduqah unless you slaughter
it.

16. P.73 3rd Hadeeth: Da'eef Jiddan (Very weak)
A Ahaadeeth states: If some one stockpiles grapes during harvest time
and holds them in order to sell them to a Jew
or..............................who produces khamr, he will be leaping
into the fire with his eyes open.

17. P.73 (cont. on page 74) 4th Hadeeth
It is reported that a man brought a cask of wine to the Prophet as a
gift. The Prophet informed him that Allaah had prohibited it `Shall I
not sell it?' asked the man. `The One who prohibited
.................Has also prohibited selling it' replied the Prophet.
`Shall I ...................' `Pour it on the ground,' the Prophet
replied.

18. P.75 2nd Hadeeth
He said: Allaah has sent down the disease and the cure, and for every
disease there is a cure. So take medicine but do not use anything Haram
as medicine.

19. P.80 2nd Hadeeth
It is reported that the Prophet said: Cleanse yourself, for Islam is
cleanliness.

Cleanliness invites towards faith, and faith leads its possessor to the
garden.

disheveled hair, looking like a devil.

The Prophet has mentioned the man whom Allaah has made male but who
becomes effeminate by imitating women and a woman whom Allaah has made a
female but who becomes masculinized by imitating men.

23. P.90 2nd narration
`Aishah was asked: `What if a woman removes hair from her forehead to
please her husband?' `Aishah replied, `Remove what is harmful from
yourselves whenever possible.

24. P.92 3rd Hadeeth
The Prophet said: There is nothing wrong with tawamil.

both length and breadth.
This has been recommended in a hadith reported by Tirmidhi. Ghayatul

26. P.96 2nd Hadeeth
He used to pray fervently, "O my Lord, forgive me my sin, make my
house spacious, and bless me in my sustenance." He was asked
"O messenger of Allaah, why do you.....................He replied,
"Is anything left out?"

The Prophet said: If anyone plants a tree, patiently protects it, and

He said: An honest and trustworthy merchant will be with the martyrs on
the Day of Resurrection.

He said: Merchants will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection as

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet as saying: Woe to the rulers, the
leaders and the trustees! On the Day of Resurrection some people will
wish that .................................Rather than having had the

36. P.144 2nd Hadeeth
Anas narrated that the Prophet said: He who seeks the office of a
judge...but for him who is compelled to accept it, Allaah sends an angel
to guide him.

He said: A person does not reach the rank of the God fearing until he

prohibited people from going to public baths but later allowed men to

Abu Hurairah narrated: Allaah's Messenger led us in prayer, and when he
finished he turned towards us and said: 'Remain seated is............

this and I did that with my wife?'..........Do you know what those who
do this are like? ............ ...................Like a male and female
devil who meet each other in the road satisfy their desire while the

`indeed, this only increases your weakness. Throw it away, for if you

Allaah's Hand is over two partners as long as one of them does not cheat

`Aishah Radiallahu'anha reported that the Prophet said to his
companions: `Do You know what the worst form of usury is in the sight of
Allaah?' They said, `Allaah and His Messenger know best.' The Prophet
replied: `The worst form of usury is the violation of personal honour of
a Muslim.' He then recited, `Those who harm believing men and believing
women undeservedly have laid upon themselves a calumny and a manifest
sin' (33:58).

None of you should remain in a place where a man is being killed
Unjustly, for the curse (of Allaah) descends on anyone who was present
but did not defend him.

Ibn Abbas said: The people of the time of jahiliyyah ate certain foods
and avoided others according to their whim. Then Allaah sent his prophet
and revealed His book, and He legislated what is permissible and what is
prohibited. Accordingly, what he permitted is Halaal, what he prohibited
is Haraam, and that concerning which he is silent is allowed. Ibn Abbas
then recited: "Say I do not find in what is revealed to me anything
prohibited to an eater in his food." (6:145)
